The fifth annual BBC Midlands Sports Awards were held on Sunday 2nd December at the Motorcycle Museum. Recently I was honored to be nominated for Young sportsman award at the annual BBC Midlands Sports Awards '07.

The evening was a success and a host of many sports men from the midlands including Villa captain Gareth Barry.

I attended the awards with my dad and I have to say I was very nervous, In the end I missed out on the award to Joe costello but the experience was amazing and would love to do it again some day.

*BBC Local Radio Breakthrough: Michael Kightly (Wolves) and Herefordshire motorcyclist Chaz Davies
*Power of Sport: Telford Sports, Learning and Enterprise Community
